About us
Bushido Karate is a family orientated business that offers traditional martial arts through a variety of fun classes. Our goal is to teach understanding of the arts through a hands-on and applicable approach while sharing our passion for what we love. Bushido Karate proudly hosts a range of experienced instructors teaching multiple styles of martial arts including Karate, Kobudo (weapons), Iaido (Japanese sword), and Tai Chi.

Matthew Flynn
Lead Karate Instructor
Matt Sensei began training at six years old at the Delta County Budokan in Escanaba and has been the lead instructor at Bushido Karate for a few years.
Wanda Lemaster
Instructor
Wanda earned her black belt in Uechi Ryu Karate through Bushido Karate and has become the Wednesday instructor for Karate.
Jim Flores
Lead Iaido Instructor
Jim is the lead instructor for Iaido and has lead groups of students to Japan to study.
R.Anne Flynn
Instructor
Flynn earned her black belt in Shotokan Karate in Kalamazoo and has since moved to Manistique where she heads our sparring class.
Cathy Flores
Instructor
Cathy is our Kobudo instructor and was the first of our family to begin training in Iaido.
